Chilling breakthrough? new tech aims to keep transplant hearts healthier
NCT ID NCT07230886
Summary
This study is testing whether a new temperature-controlled system can better preserve donor hearts during transplant surgery compared to the standard method of using an ice box. The goal is to see if this new system reduces serious complications in the first 90 days after a heart transplant. Fifty patients receiving a heart transplant will be randomly assigned to have their donor heart stored in either the new system or a standard ice box.
