Scientists examine heart fat to unlock inflammation secrets
NCT ID NCT07360925
Summary
This study aims to understand how inflammation spreads between fat tissue surrounding heart arteries and the artery walls themselves in people with heart failure. Researchers will examine tissue samples from 60 patients undergoing heart transplantation to measure fat cell size and immune cell activity at different distances from the arteries. The goal is to learn how this inflammation relates to atherosclerosis (artery hardening) to potentially improve future heart disease treatments.
