Does heart surgery fog your brain? major study launches to find out

NCT ID NCT07491120

Summary

This study aims to understand if heart bypass surgery (CABG) causes more long-term thinking and memory problems compared to a less invasive stent procedure (PCI). Researchers will follow 600 people for two years, giving them computer-based brain tests before their procedure and several times afterward. The goal is to give patients and doctors clearer information about the potential cognitive risks when choosing between these two common heart treatments.
