New heart scan aims to spot surgery trouble before it happens
NCT ID NCT07390903
Summary
This study is testing if a special heart scan measurement, taken before surgery, can predict which patients will have a hard time coming off the heart-lung machine during their operation. Researchers will follow 213 adults having planned heart surgery to see if this scan result is linked to needing more support drugs, longer hospital stays, or other recovery issues. The goal is to find a better way to identify surgical risks ahead of time.
