New filter aims to calm Body's storm after heart surgery
NCT ID NCT04201119
Summary
This study tested if using a special filter called Oxiris during heart surgery could help patients recover better. The filter was designed to remove harmful inflammatory substances from the blood, which the body often produces after major surgery. Researchers hoped this would improve tiny blood vessel function and reduce serious complications like heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems in the 70 adults who participated.
