Could squeezing your arm help your heart heal? new study tests Long-Term recovery trick

NCT ID NCT04779008

Summary

This study is testing if a simple, non-drug technique called remote ischemic preconditioning (RIPC) can help people recover better from heart bypass surgery. RIPC involves repeatedly squeezing and releasing the arm with a blood pressure cuff to potentially train the heart's blood vessels. Researchers want to see if doing this before surgery and daily for a year afterward improves blood flow to the heart and reduces the risk of future heart attacks or strokes compared to standard care.
