Scientists probe Heart's chemical secrets during surgery
NCT ID NCT06287372
Summary
This study aimed to understand how two different heart-protecting solutions affect the heart muscle during routine bypass surgery. Researchers compared a warm solution (Calafiore) and a cold solution (Modified del Nido) in 20 patients. They measured chemicals inside the heart muscle and markers of heart injury to see if one method was better at protecting the heart during the operation.
