Summary

This study tested whether giving children a vitamin E injection during heart surgery could protect their heart muscle from damage. Researchers studied 58 children, aged 1-10 years, who were having surgery to correct a serious heart defect called Tetralogy of Fallot. They compared the heart damage in children who received the vitamin E injection to those who received a placebo.
