Summary
This study compared two different protective fluid solutions used to stop and protect the heart during coronary artery bypass graft (CABG) surgery. It involved 124 adult patients undergoing planned heart surgery. Researchers tested whether a modified 'Del Nido' solution made with Ringer's acetate was better than the standard 'HTK' solution at preventing heart rhythm problems and reducing heart muscle damage after surgery.
