New hope for High-Risk heart patients: drug aims to prevent dangerous bleeding
NCT ID NCT07278661
Summary
This study is testing if a drug called romiplostim can safely increase platelet counts in adults with low platelets before they undergo major heart surgery. The goal is to help these high-risk patients have the life-saving surgery they need with a lower chance of dangerous bleeding and fewer blood transfusions. About 136 participants will receive either the drug or a placebo before surgery and be closely monitored.
