New heart surgery technique aims to shield the brain
NCT ID NCT07302659
Summary
This study is testing a new surgical method designed to reduce brain injury and thinking problems that can sometimes occur after heart bypass surgery. It will involve 380 adults scheduled for bypass surgery who will be randomly assigned to receive either the new technique or standard care. The main goal is to see if the new approach lowers the risk of silent strokes and other brain complications after the operation.
