Heart surgeons test simple stitch to shield the brain

Summary
This study aims to see if closing a small pouch in the heart during valve surgery can prevent silent strokes. It will involve 100 adults without atrial fibrillation who are scheduled for heart valve surgery. Researchers will use brain scans after surgery to check for silent brain injuries and track patients for a year.
