Heart surgery recovery: which Acid-Fixer works best?
NCT ID NCT07424625
Summary
This study aims to find out if two commonly used medications for treating acid imbalance (metabolic acidosis) after heart surgery work equally well. Researchers will compare sodium bicarbonate and THAM in 250 patients who develop this condition during their recovery. The trial will measure how each medication affects blood chemistry, organ function, and recovery time in the hospital.
