New heart pump gets first human test in risky procedures
NCT ID NCT06087575
Summary
This early study tested a new temporary heart pump system designed to support patients during high-risk artery-clearing procedures. The device was used in 15 stable patients with severe coronary artery disease to see if it could be safely placed and provide adequate support during their procedure. Researchers measured whether the device could maintain blood pressure and tracked any serious complications related to its use.
