Heart treatment showdown: balloon vs. stent for diabetics
NCT ID NCT05937230
Summary
This study compares two common devices used to open clogged heart arteries in people with diabetes. It follows 1500 patients who received either a permanent metal stent that slowly releases medication or a special balloon coated with medication that is then removed. The goal is to see which device leads to better long-term heart health and fewer future procedures.
