Heart stent camera could slash risky medication time for thousands
NCT ID NCT07198529
Summary
This study is testing if using a tiny, high-definition camera inside the heart's arteries during a stent procedure can lead to better results. If the camera shows the stent is perfectly placed, doctors hope patients can safely take a strong blood-thinning medication for just one month instead of the usual 6-12 months. This could significantly reduce the risk of dangerous bleeding while still protecting the heart. The study will enroll 130 patients with stable chest pain from heart artery disease.
