Heart study tests better way to place Life-Saving stents
NCT ID NCT03770650
Summary
This study is testing which of two imaging methods is better for guiding the placement of stents (tiny mesh tubes) in complex blockages where a heart artery splits. Researchers want to see if using a more detailed ultrasound method inside the artery leads to fewer future heart problems, like heart attacks or the need for repeat procedures, compared to the standard X-ray method. The study involves 556 patients with coronary artery disease and follows them for about a year.
