Heart stent strategy tested: two stents vs. one in complex artery branches

NCT ID NCT00376571

Summary

This study compared two approaches for placing drug-coated stents in complex heart artery branches where arteries split. Researchers tested whether routinely placing stents in both branches was better than placing one in the main branch and only treating the side branch if needed. The study involved 413 patients with coronary artery disease and followed them for 8 months to see which approach led to fewer heart complications.
