New heart stent technique aims for fewer complications

NCT ID NCT06013007

Summary

This study tested a simpler, more stable method for placing drug-coated stents (tiny mesh tubes) in the heart arteries of 161 patients with acute chest pain or heart attacks. Doctors used special imaging to guide the stent placement and inflated the balloon at a steady, moderate pressure for at least 30 seconds. The goal was to see if this approach could improve how well the stent opens the artery while reducing risks like radiation exposure and balloon-related complications.
