New heart balloon trial challenges standard treatment
NCT ID NCT06822712
Summary
This study compares two different drug-coated balloons used during heart artery procedures. Researchers want to see if a sirolimus-coated balloon works as well as the standard paclitaxel-coated balloon for treating specific branch points in clogged heart arteries. The trial will enroll 250 adults with coronary artery disease and measure how narrow the treated artery becomes again after 9 months.
