New radiation technique aims to shield the heart during cancer treatment

NCT ID NCT07132918

Summary

This study is testing a new, more precise way to deliver radiation therapy for cancers in the chest area, like lung and esophageal cancer. The goal is to see if using real-time MRI guidance can better protect the heart from radiation damage compared to the standard method. Researchers will measure heart function and quality of life in about 60 patients to see which approach is safer.
