NCT ID NCT04936815
First seen Jan 20, 2026 · Last updated Jun 11, 2026 · Updated 12 times
Summary
This study looks at whether giving pregnant women a heart ultrasound (echocardiogram) during routine check-ups can help find hidden heart problems and reduce serious complications like death, heart failure, or low baby health scores. About 9,000 pregnant women in Nepal will be randomly assigned to receive either the heart screening or standard care. The goal is to see if early detection of heart issues can improve outcomes for both mothers and their babies.
