Could a simple heart scan save mothers and babies?

NCT ID NCT04936815

Summary

This study is testing whether giving pregnant women a heart ultrasound scan during their regular prenatal checkups can help prevent serious health problems. It involves 9,000 pregnant women in Nepal, where hidden heart valve disease is common. The researchers want to see if finding these heart problems early leads to better care and fewer deaths or complications for mothers and their newborns.
