Heart scarring clues could predict danger in Born-with-Heart-Defect patients
NCT ID NCT04737135
First seen May 01, 2026 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 9 times
Summary
This study examines heart scarring in 224 adults who had surgery as children for a heart defect called tetralogy of Fallot. Researchers use MRI scans and blood tests to measure scarring and see if it is linked to serious heart events like arrhythmias or heart failure. The goal is to better predict which patients are at higher risk, not to test a new treatment.
