New heart scan aims to spot hidden heart problems

NCT ID NCT06969547

Summary

This study is testing whether a specialized type of heart scan (called SPECT) can better identify problems with the tiny blood vessels in the heart muscle, a condition known as microvascular dysfunction. Researchers will compare scan results from 75 participants with different types of heart disease to see if specific patterns in the heart's pumping rhythm can serve as a reliable marker for this hard-to-detect issue. The goal is to find a better way to diagnose this condition, which can cause chest pain even when the main heart arteries look clear.
