New heart scan could revolutionize how doctors detect and track amyloidosis

NCT ID NCT07218705

Summary

This study is testing a new type of heart scan called magnetocardiography (MCG) to see if it can better detect and monitor amyloidosis, a disease where abnormal proteins build up in organs. Researchers will enroll 500 adults with amyloidosis to compare the new MCG scan against standard electrocardiogram (ECG) tests. The goal is to determine if this non-invasive scan is more accurate at diagnosing the disease and tracking how it changes over time or with treatment.
