Dialysis Patients' hidden heart risk revealed in new study

NCT ID NCT07558239

First seen May 04, 2026 · Last updated May 15, 2026 · Updated 4 times

Summary

This study will examine 100 adults on hemodialysis to see how traditional heart risk factors (like high blood pressure and diabetes) and dialysis-specific factors (like treatment length) relate to the thickness of the carotid artery wall. The goal is to better understand why heart disease is the leading cause of death in dialysis patients. No new treatments are tested; this is an observational study.
