Tiny heart monitor seeks to predict sudden cardiac death risk
NCT ID NCT04856267
Summary
This study aims to better understand the risk of dangerous heart rhythms in people with cardiac amyloidosis, a condition where abnormal proteins build up in the heart. Researchers will implant a small, long-term heart monitor under the skin of 110 participants to continuously track their heart rhythm for up to three years. The goal is to learn when these rhythms happen, how often, and which patients are most at risk, which could help guide future decisions about treatments like pacemakers.
