Doctors test nerve block to understand deadly heart rhythms

NCT ID NCT05377216

Summary

This early research aims to understand how temporarily blocking specific neck nerves affects dangerous rapid heart rhythms in patients with ventricular tachycardia. The study involves 20 adults who are already scheduled for a heart procedure to treat their rhythm problem. Researchers will measure changes in heart electrical properties and blood chemicals before and after the nerve block to gather basic knowledge about how the nervous system influences these dangerous rhythms.
