Hidden genetic link between heart and muscle disorders under investigation
NCT ID NCT07183059
First seen Oct 31, 2025 · Last updated Jun 16, 2026 · Updated 32 times
Summary
This study looks at whether people with heart rhythm problems also have gene changes linked to a muscle condition called non-dystrophic myotonia. Researchers will check the genetic data of 570 adults who had heart gene testing. Those with certain gene variants will be invited for a muscle exam and nerve test. The goal is to better understand if these conditions are connected, which could improve future diagnosis and care.
