Heartbeat holds clue to Post-Surgery nausea

NCT ID NCT06948708

Summary

This study aimed to see if a simple measurement of heart rate patterns before surgery could predict which patients would experience nausea and vomiting afterwards. Researchers observed 110 women having elective gallbladder surgery, measuring their heart rate variability before and after the procedure. The goal was to find a new way to identify patients at high risk for this common and uncomfortable side effect.
