Race against the clock: finding the fastest Heart-Slowing drug for clearer scans
NCT ID NCT07268170
Summary
This study aims to find which heart rate medication works fastest to slow patients' hearts before they get a special heart scan called cardiac CT. Researchers will test different doses of three common drugs (metoprolol, atenolol, and ivabradine) in 350 adults with heart rates over 65 beats per minute. The goal is to identify the best drug and dose to quickly achieve a slower, steadier heart rate, which helps produce clearer, more accurate scan images for evaluating coronary artery disease.
