Tiny pump offers lifeline for failing hearts

NCT ID NCT05291884

Summary

This early study is testing a small, temporary heart pump called the Impella BTR in 10 adults with severe, worsening heart failure. The pump is surgically placed to help the heart pump blood while patients recover or wait for their next treatment. Researchers want to see if the device is safe and can provide adequate support for up to 28 days before being removed.
