Scientists examine what sticks to Life-Saving heart pumps

NCT ID NCT06765226

Summary

This study aims to learn more about the tiny bits of cells and proteins that stick to Impella heart pumps after they are used to support patients with severe heart failure. Researchers will analyze 200 used pumps to see what kinds of deposits form and try to connect those findings to the patients' medical histories. The goal is to gather knowledge that could help improve future pump designs and patient care.
