Summary

This study is testing if using a mechanical heart pump early can help patients who develop a dangerous heart wall tear after a major heart attack. It will involve 100 patients who are in the very early stages of shock. Researchers want to see if the pump, inserted within hours, can lower the very high death rate associated with this condition.
