Can a common cholesterol pill shield hearts from chemo damage?

NCT ID NCT07254221

Summary

This study is testing whether the drug rosuvastatin can protect the heart from damage caused by a common type of breast cancer chemotherapy. 400 women starting this chemotherapy will take either rosuvastatin or a placebo pill daily for one year. The main goal is to see if the drug can prevent a drop in the heart's pumping strength, a known side effect of the cancer treatment.
