Summary

This study looks at whether a simple ECG test can tell which patients are at risk of forming dangerous blood clots that lead to stroke. Researchers will study the heart's small pouch (left atrial appendage) and blood samples from 1000 people having open-heart surgery. The goal is to find better ways to prevent strokes in people with atrial fibrillation.
