New camera seeks hidden heart attack danger
NCT ID NCT00540761
Summary
This study aims to learn more about a dangerous type of fatty buildup in heart arteries called 'vulnerable plaque,' which is linked to heart attacks. Researchers will use a new, detailed imaging camera during a standard artery-opening procedure to see this plaque and watch for changes over two years. The goal is to better understand who is at highest risk for a heart attack, not to test a new treatment.
