Heart attack prevention: can two drugs beat one?
NCT ID NCT06767345
Summary
This study compares two common cholesterol treatment approaches to see which is better at stabilizing dangerous plaque buildup in heart arteries. It will follow 408 adults with heart disease for one year, using special heart imaging to measure changes in plaque. The goal is to see if a moderate-strength statin plus a second drug works as well as a high-strength statin alone to prevent plaque from causing heart attacks or strokes.
