New pacemaker technique aims to tame dangerous heart rhythms

NCT ID NCT07372196

Summary

This study is testing a new way to implant a special pacemaker/defibrillator in patients with a thickened heart muscle (hypertrophic cardiomyopathy) who have already had surgery. The goal is to see if this method can better control heart failure, prevent life-threatening irregular heartbeats, and help the heart heal over time. Researchers will compare the new pacing technique to a standard device in 30 patients over one year.
