Nerve block study seeks to unlock heart rhythm secrets
NCT ID NCT05377216
First seen Nov 21, 2025 · Last updated May 08, 2026 · Updated 25 times
Summary
This study looks at how blocking a nerve cluster near the spine (stellate ganglion block) changes the heart's electrical activity in 20 adults with ventricular tachycardia who are already scheduled for a catheter ablation. Researchers will measure heart tissue recovery time and whether dangerous rhythms can be triggered, along with changes in a stress-related chemical. The goal is to better understand how nerve signals affect heart rhythm, not to provide a direct treatment.
