Heart surgery fluid puzzle: which mix keeps patients balanced?
NCT ID NCT07267546
Summary
This study aims to understand how different fluids used to fill heart-lung machines affect patients' blood chemistry during heart surgery. Researchers will compare four different fluid mixtures in 80 patients undergoing bypass or valve replacement surgery. They will measure blood salt levels, acidity, and kidney function before, during, and after surgery to see which fluid best maintains the body's natural balance.
