Researchers probe hidden heart risks in common back operations

Summary
This study aims to understand how often patients experience heart muscle injury after undergoing lumbar spine surgery, a type of non-heart surgery. Researchers will follow 180 adults having elective back stabilization surgery to track this complication. The main goal is to identify which patient factors or conditions increase the risk of this type of heart injury occurring within 30 days after the operation.
