Silent heart damage after surgery: a major hidden killer?
NCT ID NCT02573532
Summary
This study aims to understand a common but often hidden problem: heart injuries that occur after major non-heart surgery. Researchers will follow nearly 20,000 high-risk patients for a year, using blood tests to detect these silent injuries. The goal is to learn how often they happen, which patients are most at risk, and how they affect long-term survival, which could lead to better monitoring and care strategies.
