Silent heart damage after cancer surgery: hidden risk revealed?

NCT ID NCT06515431

Summary

This study aimed to understand how often patients experience hidden heart damage after surgery to remove a kidney for cancer. Researchers planned to measure a specific blood marker in 120 patients to detect this silent injury and compare whether robotic or traditional keyhole surgery led to different risks. The goal was to identify which patients are most vulnerable so future surgeries can be safer, but the study was withdrawn before any participants were enrolled.
