Scientists seek the perfect dose for a deadly heart infection
NCT ID NCT04647331
Summary
This study aims to understand how different patients with a serious heart infection (infective endocarditis) process common antibiotics. Researchers will collect blood samples from 150 patients in Sweden to measure drug levels and see how factors like age and kidney function affect them. The goal is to build a model that can predict the best, personalized antibiotic dose for each patient to make treatment more effective and safer.
