First seen Jan 05, 2026 · Last updated May 13, 2026 · Updated 21 times

Summary

This study looks at whether a type of blood pressure medication (mineralocorticoid receptor antagonist) can improve blood flow and energy use in the heart better than a standard diuretic. It involves 75 adults with high blood pressure and left ventricular hypertrophy (thickened heart muscle). Participants will be randomly assigned to one of the two treatments, and researchers will measure changes in heart blood flow and efficiency over time.
