C-Section heart study: which drug keeps Mom's pump stronger?

NCT ID NCT07322419

Summary

This study aims to find out which of two common medications—norepinephrine or ephedrine—better maintains a mother's heart function and blood pressure during a planned C-section with spinal anesthesia. Researchers will use heart ultrasound to measure how well the heart pumps blood in 200 healthy, full-term pregnant women. The goal is to gather knowledge to help doctors choose the safest option for maintaining stable blood flow to both mother and baby during delivery.
