Scientists probe Heart's role in debilitating Post-Exercise crash

NCT ID NCT04740736

Summary

This study aimed to understand how the heart and lungs work in people with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome (ME/CFS), specifically focusing on the severe symptom of feeling much worse after physical or mental effort, known as post-exertional malaise. Participants completed two days of exercise tests. Researchers measured their total blood volume and tested if giving a saline (salt water) infusion before the second test made any difference.
