Scientists probe heart fat for clues to inflammation
NCT ID NCT07360925
Summary
This study aims to understand how inflammation spreads between fat tissue surrounding heart arteries and the artery walls themselves. Researchers will analyze tissue samples from 60 patients with severe heart failure who are undergoing heart transplantation. By comparing fat cells close to the arteries with those farther away, they hope to learn more about the link between this fat tissue and heart artery disease.
